Please do consider joining our Pastorate Lent Bible Study this year.

Everyone is welcome!

The pastorate Lent Bible study will be run for 5 weeks of Lent, on Wednesday
evenings at 7:30pm, alternating between Beulah URC, Rhiwbina and City URC, Windsor Place, Cardiff. It will be led by our ministers David and Martha.
In addition, there will be a Thursday afternoon study on Zoom from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m.

This year we will use the book Witness at the Cross: A Beginner’s Guide to Holy Friday by Amy-Jill Levine.
This book is an eye-opening look at Good Friday. It is an in-depth look at the cross through considering the actions and testimony of various people that were there, including the soldiers, the thieves, Simon of Cyrene, the women and the disciples.
We are invited to be a witness, and perhaps, having learned the ancient witness’s stories, we today will be transformed.
Martha says: Dr. Levine was a professor of New Testament at Vanderbilt University, Nashville, TN.  She is a New Testament scholar and is Jewish.  She brings very insightful perspectives to her study.

Anyone wanting a copy of the book could find it online at used bookstore sites, but you do not need to read the book to participate in the Lent Group.
